Borussia Dortmund sporting director Michael Zorc has commented after news broke that Erling Haaland’s agent and father had traveled to Barcelona and Madrid to hold talks over a potential transfer with the two Spanish giants. Speaking to Sky Germany, the 58 year old said that Dortmund have made their intentions very clear to Mino Raiola.
"“Yesterday I spoke to Mino Raiola. We’ve made our intentions very clear,” Zorc said.Zorc also told Sport1, “No problem if Alfie and Mino want to soak up some sun on the Mediterranean Sea. I am relaxed because I know what we want.”"
Ruhr Nachrichten report Borussia Dortmund will not be selling Erling Haaland this summer, and they have already informed this to his entourage. They add that the news of Raiola’s trip to Barcelona did not surprise Michael Zorc.
Reports in Spain claim that Barcelona reaffirmed their interest in signing Haaland during their meeting with Mino Raiola and Alf-Inge Haaland on Thursday. The Catalan giants are ready to enter the bidding war for the Norwegian international, but everything will ultimately depend on the asking price Borussia Dortmund set.
According to ESPN, Borussia Dortmund will demand 180 million euros for Haaland this summer. Real Madrid, Manchester City, Manchester United and Chelsea are also said to be interested in signing the 20 year old striker.
Haaland still has more than three years left on his Borussia Dortmund contract, so the BVB bosses will be under no pressure to sell him this summer. His contract reportedly contains a release clause, but it will only come into effect at the end of next season.
Haaland has scored 49 goals in just 49 appearances since joining Borussia Dortmund from RB Salzburg in January 2020. He will be back in action on Saturday as the Black and Yellows go up against Eintracht Frankfurt in the Bundesliga.
