Borussia Dortmund informed Erling Haaland’s agent Mino Raiola earlier this week that they will not be selling the star striker this summer, according to multiple reports in Germany.
Mino Raiola and Alf-Inge Haaland made waves on Thursday by traveling to Spain to hold talks with Barcelona and Real Madrid officials regarding a potential move for Erling Haaland. Borussia Dortmund sporting director Michael Zorc responded swiftly and bluntly, saying that they have made their intentions very clear to Haaland’s agent and father.
According to WAZ (subscription required), the BVB bosses sat down with Raiola on Wednesday and told him that they will not be selling Haaland this summer. The report adds, citing information from the club, that Raiola has accepted this stance. He has now reportedly set his sights on a transfer for the striker in 2022. In addition, Dortmund were informed in advance of Raiola’s plans to travel to Spain.
Ruhr Nachrichten (subscription required) are also reporting that Borussia Dortmund have made it clear that they will not be selling Haaland this summer, even if the team fails to qualify for next season’s UEFA Champions League. The newspaper further adds that Haaland’s entourage has already been informed of the club’s plans. The 20 year old striker will not be leaving the Black and Yellows this summer.
Haaland still has more than three years left on his Borussia Dortmund contract. His contract reportedly contains a release clause, which will only come into effect at the end of next season. The Norwegian international is set to make his 50th appearance for the Black and Yellows this weekend, and will also have his sights set on scoring his 50th goal for the club.
