Borussia Dortmund suffered a 2-1 defeat at home to Eintracht Frankfurt on Saturday, leaving their hopes of qualifying for the Champions League in tatters.

Nico Schulz’ own goal gave Eintracht Frankfurt the early lead, before Mats Hummels equalised for Borussia Dortmund on the stroke of half time. The Black and Yellows failed to create any clear cut chances in the second half. And they were made to pay in the 88th minute, when Andre Silva scored his 22nd goal of the season to give the Eagles a priceless win.

The defeat could prove to be a fatal one for Borussia Dortmund’s top four hopes. Edin Terzic’s side are now seven points behind fourth placed Eintracht Frankfurt, with just seven games remaining this season.

Here are our player ratings for the Borussia Dortmund players from the game.

Marwin Hitz (5.5/10)

Hitz got a hand to Schulz’ header but could not prevent it from finding the net despite being at full stretch. He wasn’t really tested after that, and did not stand a chance with Andre Silva’s header from close range either.
