Emre Can (5.5/10)

Playing at right-back ahead of the three actual right-backs in the Borussia Dortmund squad, Emre Can had a mixed bag of a game. He failed to stop the cross from coming into the box before the first goal. Filip Kostic continued to cause problems from Dortmund’s right flank. But Can did well to deal with the threat of the Eintracht Frankfurt wing-back for the most part. The German international also set up the equaliser for Mats Hummels.

He also made a lot of forward runs, but the majority of them did not lead to anything.

Manuel Akanji (5/10)

Akanji made his first start for Borussia Dortmund in over a month. He made some important tackles in the first half and looked fairly solid. But he let Luka Jovic run past him way too easily in the build-up to Andre Silva’s winner.

Mats Hummels (7/10)

Hummels made several vital tackles and interceptions for his side, and won the majority of his duels. He also scored the equaliser for Borussia Dortmund on the stroke of half time. But he was lulled towards the ball in the build-up to Eintracht Frankfurt’s winner, leaving Andre Silva free to score.

Nico Schulz (4/10)

Schulz scored the own goal which gave Eintracht Frankfurt the lead. And looking back on it, he will feel that he could have and should have done better to deal with the cross. He looked uncertain defensively, gave the ball away cheaply on a couple of occasions and wasn’t able to cause any problems going forward.
