Previous Meeting: Borussia Dortmund 1-0 Manchester City

Borussia Dortmund and Manchester City have met just twice in the past. Both meetings came during the 2012/13 UEFA Champions League group stage, when the Black and Yellows qualified for the round of 16 and the Premier League giants finished bottom of the group.

The two sides played out a 1-1 draw at the Etihad Stadium on Matchday 02. The game was dominated by Borussia Dortmund, but Marco Reus’ opener was canceled out by a late penalty from Mario Balotelli.

Jürgen Klopp’s side weren’t to be denied at the Signal Iduna Park though, as Julian Schieber’s 57th minute goal helped them earn a 1-0 win on Matchday 06.

The win helped Borussia Dortmund finish top of their group, and set them up for what was a memorable Champions League run.

Manchester City are the team to be this time around though, and Borussia Dortmund will be looking to spoil their party.
