Mateu Morey (5.5/10)

Morey was made to work very hard by the Manchester City forwards, and had a fair few problems against Phil Foden and Joao Cancelo. But despite that, the Spaniard never let his concentration levels drop and fought hard for the team. He did not venture forward too much and was replaced by Thomas Meunier in the 81st minute.

Manuel Akanji (7/10)

Akanji put in a courageous and confident display in defence. He made some strong recoveries and showed just how good he can be when he is on his game. The Swiss international also made an excellent darting forward run in the first half, which nearly resulted in a chance for Borussia Dortmund.

Mats Hummels (6.5/10)

Hummels also delivered a solid defensive performance, and won the majority of his duels. He worked hard for the team and made several vital clearances to ensure that City weren’t able to cause more damage to the Dortmund goal. His passing and distribution weren’t always the best, but he did not do much wrong on the defensive end.

Raphael Guerreiro (6/10)

Guerreiro wasn’t tested as much as Morey, but dealt with the threat of Riyad Mahrez really well. He wasn’t allowed to make too many forward runs, but still managed create a couple of openings.
