Borussia Dortmund will be looking to get back to winning ways this weekend as they make the trip to VfB Stuttgart in the Bundesliga.
With a top four finish now seemingly out of reach, Borussia Dortmund will be aiming to ensure that they don’t dip any lower than fifth place in the Bundesliga standings. With Bayer Leverkusen, Borussia Mönchengladbach, Union Berlin and VfB Stuttgart all lurking, this weekend’s game could play a major role in deciding the Europa League and Conference League spots.

Stuttgart bounced back from their heavy defeat to Bayern Munich by earning a 1-0 win over Werder Bremen last weekend. It has been a fairly topsy-turvy first season back in the Bundesliga for Pellegrino Matarazzo’s side. But they still find themselves in the hunt for a place in the top six. A win on Saturday would be a massive boost to their hopes, and they go into the game with just one defeat in their last seven games.

Borussia Dortmund have now gone three games without a win. And while they showed promise in the defeat to Manchester City on Tuesday, they desperately need to get the three points this weekend. The Black and Yellows are unlikely to play Champions League football next season. But they still face a fight to ensure that they qualify for the Europa League.
Dortmund will also be looking to try and avenge the embarrassing 5-1 defeat they suffered at home to Stuttgart in the reverse fixture.
