Borussia Dortmund host Manchester City at the Signal Iduna Park on Wednesday with a place in the semifinals of the UEFA Champions League on the line.

Manchester City hold a 2-1 lead going into the second leg, but Borussia Dortmund are still very much in the tie and would progress to the semi-finals even with a 1-0 win on Wednesday.

Borussia Dortmund enjoyed a return to winning ways on Saturday as they earned a 3-2 win away to VfB Stuttgart. Ansgar Knauff scored the winner in what was a topsy turvy contest to give the Black and Yellows a much needed confidence boost heading into the second leg against Manchester City.

Dortmund’s season so far has been marred by inconsistency. But if Edin Terzic’s side perform like they did in last week’s first leg, they will fancy their chances of causing an upset on Wednesday.

Manchester City suffered a shock 2-1 defeat to 10-man Leeds United at the weekend. But Pep Guardiola rested a number of key players for that game, who will return to the starting XI on Wednesday. The Premier League giants had won each of their last six games prior to their defeat on Saturday.

Man City dominated possession as well as chances in the first leg against Dortmund. If they had just been a bit more clinical in front of goal, they would have had an unassailable lead going into the second leg.
