Emre Can (4.5/10)

Can may feel unlucky for the decision to award the penalty against him, but his arm needlessly being outstretched did not help his cause. The German international did help set up the opening goal with a long ball to Haaland, but other than that, not much went right for him. He lost too many balls and looked pretty flat in midfield.

Jude Bellingham (8/10)

Bellingham was everywhere on the pitch in the first half. He gave Borussia Dortmund the early lead with a sublime finish. And then he showed his quality on the other end of the pitch by making some vital defensive contributions. He blocked Riyad Mahrez’ goal bound effort and put in an all-action display for his side. He began to tire in the second half, and was replaced by Julian Brandt with the game already lost.

Mahmoud Dahoud (6/10)

Dahoud had a few bright moments and looked lively early on. He did a fairly decent job defensively, but his decision making wasn’t always the best going forward. He got into good positions on a few occasions in the first half, but ended up taking the shot when passing the ball would have been a better option.
