Borussia Dortmund will be aiming to keep their hopes of finishing in the top four alive as they host a struggling Werder Bremen side in the Bundesliga this weekend.
The Black and Yellows find themselves seven points behind fourth placed Eintracht Frankfurt with six games to go in the Bundesliga season. And anything other than a win on Sunday would all but mark the end of their slim hopes of qualifying for the Champions League.

Borussia Dortmund showed fight and resolve in their Champions League quarterfinal against Manchester City. But they still go into this weekend’s game with just one win in their last five games. Edin Terzic’s side did manage to earn a hard-fought 3-2 win over VfB Stuttgart in the Bundesliga last weekend. And they will be looking to take inspiration from that result, as they continue their fight for a top four finish.

Like Borussia Dortmund, Werder Bremen have also won just one of their last five games. That win came against second division side SSV Jahn Regensburg in the DFB Pokal earlier this month. Florian Kohfeldt’s side have lost each of their last four games in the Bundesliga. And if they don’t find their form soon, they could well get sucked into the relegation battle.
Bremen go into Matchday 29 in 13th place in the league standings. They are four points clear of Arminia Bielefeld, who currently occupy the relegation playoff spot.
