Team News

Jadon Sancho will not be back in team training until next week. So the game against Werder Bremen comes too soon for him. The England international’s absence has been sorely felt in recent weeks. One of Ansgar Knauff, Gio Reyna and Thorgan Hazard will likely start in his stead on Sunday.

Thomas Delaney is also a doubt after missing the Manchester City game on Wednesday with an achilles injury.

Edin Terzic confirmed during his pre-match conference that there are no new injuries in the Borussia Dortmund camp.

Former Borussia Dortmund defender Ömer Toprak will miss the game for Werder Bremen with a calf injury. Nick Woltemade has also been ruled out with a knee injury. But Ludwig Augustinsson and Niclas Füllkrug are fit and could be in contention to make the starting XI.

Expected Lineups

Borussia Dortmund: Hitz – Morey, Akanji, Hummels, Guerreiro – Can, Bellingham, Dahoud – Reus, Reyna – Haaland

Werder Bremen: Pavlenka – Veljkovic, Moisander, Friedl – Gebre Selassie, Eggestein, Möhwald, Agu, Schmid – Sargent, Rashica
