Previous Meeting: Union Berlin 2-1 Borussia Dortmund

Youssoufa Moukoko’s maiden Bundesliga goal was not enough when these two sides last met, as Union Berlin earned a shock 2-1 win over Borussia Dortmund.

Following a goalless first half which saw Moukoko hit the post, Union Berlin took the lead after taking advantage of some careless Borussia Dortmund defending from a corner. It was Liverpool loanee Taiwo Awoniyi who scored the opener from close range after a well worked set-piece.

Youssoufa Moukoko equalised for Borussia Dortmund soon after with a superb finish past the Union Berlin goalkeeper. The goal helped him become the youngest player to ever score in the Bundesliga.

However, Dortmund were made to pay for more poor defending from set pieces, as Marvin Friedrich headed home the winner from a corner for Union Berlin.

Union Berlin have won each of their two home games against Borussia Dortmund. But the last time these two sides met at the Signal Iduna Park, Dortmund earned a dominant 5-0 win.
