Felix Passlack signs two-year contract extension with Borussia Dortmund

Felix Passlack has signed a contract extension with Borussia Dortmund, which will keep him at the club until 2023. This is being reported by WAZ and Sport1, who add that the full-back signed his two-year contract extension a few days ago.
Borussia Dortmund have not yet officially confirmed the news of the extension. But sporting director Michael Zorc did reveal earlier this month that talks with Passlack over a new contract have reached the ‘home straight.’
Passlack has made a total of 13 appearances for the Black and Yellows so far this season, but he hasn’t played in the Bundesliga since November. However, he did come off the bench in both legs of the UEFA Champions League round of 16 tie against Sevilla. He has also played for the U-23s in the Regionalliga West twice this month.
The 22 year old’s previous contract was due to expire at the end of the season. But his commitment, versatility and professional attitude prompted the BVB bosses to offer him an extension.
Passlack, who has been at Borussia Dortmund since 2012, feels right at home at the club. He made his professional debut in 2016, before joining TSG Hoffenheim on loan in 2017. Loan spells with Norwich City and Fortuna Sittard also followed, before the full-back returned to Dortmund last summer. He impressed during the pre-season training camp in August and regained his place in the first-team squad.
With Lukasz Piszczek and Marcel Schmelzer both set to leave Borussia Dortmund in the summer, having a versatile option like Passlack in the squad means that those in charge do not have to sign a new back-up full-back in the summer transfer window.
