Borussia Dortmund 2021/22 kits: Pictures of the new home shirt are leaked
By Tushar Bahl
Images of the home shirt that Borussia Dortmund will be wearing in the Bundesliga next season have emerged online.
The leaked images of the Borussia Dortmund 2021/22 home shirt have been published by Footy Headlines. Puma have gone with an all-yellow design for next season’s home shirt, unlike this season’s kit which has diagonal lightning bolts on the front. The shirt features a v-neck collar and has thin black stripes on the sleeves. The kit will once again have 1&1 as the main sponsor.
It was reported earlier that the home kit for the 2021/22 season would draw inspiration from the kit for the memorable 1996/97 season which saw Borussia Dortmund win the UEFA Champions League. But that does not appear to be the case in the leaked version.
It remains to be seen whether the home shirt will actually look like the leaked version. But FootyHeadlines are usually fairly reliable when it comes to leaked kit designs. Borussia Dortmund usually release different home and away kits for Bundesliga and cup games.
Recently, Borussia Dortmund released a special edition retro neon yellow kit for the home game against Werder Bremen on Matchday 29. The kit took inspiration from the 1990s, and proved to be very popular among the supporters. Fans from all over the world rushed to buy the jersey, with the club receiving more than 100,000 orders.
Borussia Dortmund usually release their new home jerseys in time for the final game of the season. So we could see the BVB players wear the home kit for the 2021/22 season for the first time when they go up against Bayer Leverkusen on matchday 34 of the Bundesliga on May 22.
