Borussia Dortmund go up against Holstein Kiel in the semi-finals of the DFB-Pokal this weekend, as they look to reach the final for the first time since 2017.

Having won each of their last four games in the Bundesliga, Borussia Dortmund go into this weekend’s crunch clash with momentum on their side. But as they so often say, the form book goes out of the window when it comes to the DFB-Pokal.

Holstein Kiel have already pulled off a few upsets this season, and eliminated Bayern Munich in the second round of the tournament. The Storks may well be in the second division currently, but Dortmund simply cannot afford to take them lightly.

Edin Terzic will have to make do without Mahmoud Dahoud, who is suspended after picking up a red card in the quarter-final against Borussia Mönchengladbach. Erling Haaland also misses the game due to a muscle injury.

Here we take a look at how Borussia Dortmund will line up for their DFB-Pokal semi-final against Holstein Kiel.

Goalkeeper: Marwin Hitz

Marwin Hitz has established himself as Borussia Dortmund’s first choice goalkeeper. And he looks set to be in the starting XI once again on Saturday. The 33 year old has kept clean sheets in each of his last two games. And he will no doubt be hoping for a quiet evening between the sticks this weekend.
