Lukasz Piszczek (6/10)

Piszczek did not make the best of starts to the game, with Fabian Reese getting the better of him on a couple of occasions. But the veteran right-back got better as the game went on, and managed to diminish the threat of the Holstein Kiel forward with relative ease.

Manuel Akanji (6.5/10)

Akanji had a solid game, with Holstein Kiel not offering much of a threat to the Dortmund goal. The Swiss centre-back dealt with whatever the second division side threw at him fairly comfortably. He also made some shrewd forward passes and had more touches of the ball than any other player on the pitch (111).

Mats Hummels (7/10)

Hummels put in a strong defensive performance, making several vital tackles and interceptions for his side. It was clear that he was determined to keep that clean sheet in the second half. And he also came close to scoring on a couple of occasions.

Raphael Guerreiro (7/10)

Guerreiro set up Reyna’s second goal with a delightful back-heel. He was heavily involved in the attacking play, and caused a lot of problems to the Holstein Kiel defenders down the left flank. The Portuguese international was everywhere on the pitch and showed just how good he can be when playing with the full freedom to go forward.
