Gregor Kobel and Peter Gulacsi the two main goalkeeper candidates for Borussia Dortmund

Borussia Dortmund want to sign a new goalkeeper this summer, and Stuttgart’s Gregor Kobel and RB Leipzig’s Peter Gulacsi are reportedly their two main candidates. This is being reported by WAZ, who add that the BVB bosses want to sell Roman Bürki in the summer transfer window.
Gregor Kobel, who has more than three years left on his contract, would likely cost the Black and Yellows around 15 million euros. While Peter Gulacsi has a release clause in his contract which would allow him to leave for a fee in the region of 12.5 million euros this summer.
Borussia Dortmund have been heavily linked with moves for both Kobel and Gulacsi in recent weeks. At the moment, it remains to be seen which of the two goalkeepers is the club’s preferred option.
But one thing is certain, Roman Bürki will have to look for a new club if he wants to get playing time once again. The 30 year old hasn’t played since late-January and faces a bleak future at BVB.
Bürki earns an annual salary of just over five million euros, and has two years left on his contract. Borussia Dortmund are reportedly willing to part ways with him this summer for a cut price fee of five million euros.
Marwin Hitz, who replaced Roman Bürki as Borussia Dortmund’s first choice goalkeeper earlier this season, recently signed a contract extension with the club. WAZ report that the 33 year old will likely become second choice once again following the arrival of a new goalkeeper this summer.
