Borussia Dortmund player ratings vs RB Leipzig: Jadon Sancho comes clutch to seal vital win
By Tushar Bahl
Jadon Sancho (8.5/10)
Sancho proved to be the difference maker for Borussia Dortmund, scoring a vital brace to keep their Champions League hopes alive. His pace and directness caused the RB Leipzig defenders a lot of problems over the course of the 90 minutes. And his goals just further showed the world-class quality he possesses.
Marco Reus (7/10)
Reus continued his good run of form and gave Borussia Dortmund the lead in the seventh minute. It was an impressive finish at the end of a lovely move. He wasn’t able to perform at the same level after the break, as Leipzig began to dominate proceedings. He had a fairly decent chance to make it 3-2 in the 83rd minute, but wasn’t able to beat Upamecano in the duel.
Gio Reyna (5/10)
Reyna was hardly involved over the course of the time he spent on the pitch, and his decision making looked off more often than not. He did help out defensively on a few occasions. But other than that, it was a flat performance from the 18 year old.
Thorgan Hazard (6/10)
Hazard set up Marco Reus’ opener with a lovely flick. He was full of running, worked hard for the team, and forced a save from Gulacsi in the first half. He was replaced by Julian Brandt in the 71st minute.
