English Premier League side Southampton could make a move for Borussia Dortmund midfielder Thomas Delaney this summer. This is being reported by ESPN, who add that the Black and Yellows would be willing to sell him for a transfer fee in the region of just 10 million euros.

Thomas Delaney’s Borussia Dortmund contract is set to expire at the end of next season. So the BVB bosses will likely want to make a decision on his long term future this summer. The Danish international said in February that he is happy in Dortmund, but added that his future could depend on how he fits into incoming head coach Marco Rose’s plans for next season.

Delaney has made 33 appearances for Borussia Dortmund so far this season. The 30 year old became a key player in the team after Axel Witsel suffered a long term injury in January. But he has found playing time hard to come by in recent weeks, with Emre Can, Mahmoud Dahoud and Jude Bellingham all now seemingly ahead of him in the pecking order in midfield.

Delaney was linked with a move away from Borussia Dortmund last summer as well. But the BVB bosses had no intentions of selling him, and he was even given a leadership role in the team before the start of the current season.

Delaney joined Borussia Dortmund from Werder Bremen in 2018 for a fee of around 20 million euros. The combative midfielder has made a total of 85 appearances for Der BVB over the last three seasons, scoring four goals.
