Previous Meeting: Bayer Leverkusen 2-1 Borussia Dortmund

The last time these two sides met was in January, when Bayer Leverkusen handed Borussia Dortmund a damaging 2-1 defeat.

Moussa Diaby was Leverkusen’s star of the show, as he caused all sorts of problems to the Borussia Dortmund defence with his stunning pace and technique. The winger opened the scoring in the 14th minute after getting on the end of a long ball from Leon Bailey.

Julian Brandt then scored against his former club to give Borussia Dortmund their equaliser with a gorgeous finish from outside the box.

But Bayer Leverkusen weren’t to be denied, as Florian Wirtz scored what proved to be the winner in the 80th minute after being set up by Diaby.

Games between these two teams are almost always high scoring and pulsating affairs. And don’t be surprised if we see another cracking contest on Saturday.
