Bundesliga 2021/22 fixtures to be announced on 25 June
The fixtures for the upcoming 2021/22 Bundesliga season will be released on June 25, the DFL has confirmed.
The 2021/22 Bundesliga season is due to get underway on August 13, 2021, with the 2. Bundesliga season commencing three weeks earlier on July 23rd. And Borussia Dortmund will find out their fixture list for the new season later this month.
As always, teams in the Bundesliga will kick-start their seasons with the first round of the DFB Pokal. The draw for the first round of the DFB Pokal will likely be made in the coming weeks, and fixtures will take place on August 6-9. Borussia Dortmund will also go up against Bayern Munich in the DFL Supercup. That match will take place at the Signal Iduna Park on Tuesday, August 17.
The 2021/22 Bundesliga season will end on May 14, 2022. While the winter break will begin after Matchday 17 on December 20, 2021, and the first game of 2022 will take place on Friday, January 07.
VfL Bochum and Greuther Fürth will make their returns to the Bundesliga next season after being promoted from the second division. They will replace Schalke 04 and SV Werder Bremen, who were relegated to the second division this season. So Borussia Dortmund will have a local derby to look forward to against VfL Bochum next season, despite Schalke’s relegation.

Borussia Dortmund finished third in the Bundesliga standings this season, and they will be aiming to fight for the title under new head coach Marco Rose next season. The Black and Yellows will begin their preparations for the new season on July 01.
