Borussia Dortmund are looking to strengthen their squad with a central defender, a winger and a right back pending potential sales, according to SportBILD.

The summer transfer window is just around the corner, and according to SportBILD, Borussia Dortmund may well be looking to bring in some reinforcements in the not so distant future. But before that can happen, they must sell some players.

Borussia Dortmund will perhaps have the opportunity and funds they need to dip back into the transfer market if they sell Jadon Sancho. Reports claim that Manchester United have resumed negotiations over the signing of the England international. It was to be expected that United would come back to target the winger, and that the clubs would be embroiled in another transfer saga over the player. United seem keen to have the deal completed before the start of the Euros. But with just under a week to get the deal over the line, that deadline appears to be rather unrealistic.

Sport Bild have reiterated that with the sale of Sancho, Borussia Dortmund will indeed look to dip back into the market, with the majority of the funds garnered from any sales to be reinvested in signing a central defender, a right back and another winger. The first name reported to be on Dortmund’s shopping list is Jeremiah St. Juste from Mainz, who could come in to help shore up Dortmund at central defence. With Mateu Morey out with a long term injury, St. Juste may be called upon to deputize as a right back as well.

In addition to St. Juste, SportBILD have also reported one of the names to replace Sancho is Donyell Malen, who currently plies his trade for PSV Eindhoven. The links to Malen are something that go back months. Dortmund have also been linked to PSV Eindhoven winger Noni Madueke in recent months, who would seem like a more natural fit in the position.

Further transfer business will heavily depend in the impending sale of current players. The sale of Jadon Sancho, while unfortunate, would free up the necessary funds for Dortmund to balance out their squad. The magazine adds that Nico Schulz and Roman Bürki are also free to leave this summer.
