Rumour: Borussia Dortmund and Manchester United still €20 million apart in Jadon Sancho valuation
Borussia Dortmund and Manchester United are still 20 million euros apart in their valuations of Jadon Sancho. The Premier League side are confident of signing the England international this summer, but there remain concerns that the asking price is higher than expected.
This is being reported by ESPN, who also say that Borussia Dortmund are demanding a fee in the region of 100 million euros. While Manchester United are looking to drive the fee down as much as possible. It was claimed on Thursday that the Black and Yellows have rejected United’s opening offer of 78 million euros.
ESPN add that although United remain confident that the gap in valuation can be overcome, it will rely on Borussia Dortmund’s willingness to accept an agreement based on a fee paid in instalments as well as performance related bonuses. BILD claimed earlier this week that BVB want Sancho’s future to be sorted by the end of July.
Manchester United were interested in signing Sancho last summer as well, but failed to meet the demands set by Borussia Dortmund.
Sancho, who has two years left on his Borussia Dortmund contract, is currently away on international duty with England. The 21 year old said on Thursday that he is ignoring all transfer speculation and is only focusing on the upcoming European Championships.
ESPN also report that Borussia Dortmund are confident of keeping Erling Haaland at the club for at least another season. The striker is attracting interest from a number of big clubs, but the BVB bosses have been adamant that he is not for sale.
