The fixture list for the 2021/22 Bundesliga season has been released, and Borussia Dortmund will begin their campaign at home to Eintracht Frankfurt.

The 2021/22 Bundesliga season is due to get underway on August 13, 2021, and Borussia Dortmund will face Eintracht Frankfurt at home on Matchday 01. The Black and Yellows pipped Eintracht Frankfurt to a Champions League spot last season, and we could be in for a cracking Matchday 01 clash between the two sides.

Things don’t get any easier after the Eintracht Frankfurt clash, with Borussia Dortmund then set to face SC Freiburg, TSG Hoffenheim, Bayer Leverkusen and Union Berlin in their opening five games of the new season. The two Der Klassikers of the season are scheduled for Matchday 14 (03-05 December, 2021) and Matchday 31 (April 22-24, 2022).

Borussia Dortmund’s final game of the 2021/22 Bundesliga season will see them go up against Hertha Berlin at home on May 14, 2022. While the winter break for the upcoming season is scheduled for December 20, 2021-January 06, 2022. You can find the full Bundesliga schedule here.

Borussia Dortmund will begin their 2021/22 season with the first round of the DFB-Pokal, which is scheduled for August 06-09. The Black and Yellows are also due to take on Bayern Munich in the DFL-Supercup on August 17. That match will take place at the Signal Iduna Park.

VfL Bochum and Greuther Fürth will make their Bundesliga returns after being promoted from the second division. Schalke 04 and Werder Bremen were relegated to the 2. Bundesliga last season.
