Eight Borussia Dortmund players reach Euro 2020 quarterfinals

Eight Borussia Dortmund players have qualified for the quarterfinals of the European Championships, and we have some very exciting matches in store for us.

Borussia Dortmund trio Thorgan Hazard, Axel Witsel and Thomas Meunier played a crucial role for Belgium as they overcame the challenge of Portugal in the round of 16. Their reward is a quarterfinal clash against Italy, who are currently on a 31 game unbeaten run. The two sides will meet in Munich on Friday for what is undoubtedly the most mouth-watering clash of the round.

Manuel Akanji and Gregor Kobel are also through to the Euro 2020 quarterfinals. The former played a starring role as Switzerland stunned France in the round of 16. Switzerland will go up against Spain in the quarterfinals. The Euro 2012 champions earned a dramatic 5-3 win over Croatia in the last 16. Switzerland and Spain will face off in Saint Petersburg on Friday.

England edged out Germany in the round of 16 to book their place in the quarterfinals. Jadon Sancho, Jude Bellingham and co. will now face Ukraine in the quarterfinals. Ukraine beat Sweden in the round of 16. England’s clash against Ukraine will take place on Saturday in Rome.

Thomas Delaney helped Denmark thrash Wales in the round of 16. Denmark’s run so far has been nothing short of incredible. And up next for them is a quarterfinal clash against Czech Republic, who pulled off a shock win against the Netherlands in the round of 16. Denmark and Czech Republic will battle it out in Baku on Saturday.
