Report: Thomas Delaney attracting Premier League interest
Three English Premier League clubs are reportedly interested in signing Thomas Delaney, who could leave Borussia Dortmund this summer.
Thomas Delaney is facing an uncertain future at Borussia Dortmund as he enters the final year of his contract with the club. Kicker reported on Monday that the midfielder could be sold this summer. Now, Sky Germany claim that English Premier League clubs Southampton FC, Norwich City and Crystal Palace are all interested in signing him.
Delaney spoke about his future earlier this month, and said that he will only make a decision after holding talks with new head coach Marco Rose. The 29 year old is currently away with the Denmark squad at the Euros.
Sky add that there have not been any concrete offers for Delaney so far, and talks will only take place after the end of Denmark’s Euro 2020 campaign.
With Delaney’s Borussia Dortmund contract set to expire at the end of next season, the BVB bosses will want to make a decision on his long-term future this summer. The former Werder Bremen midfielder made 34 appearances across all competitions in the recently concluded campaign. However, he lost his spot in the starting XI towards the end of the season.
Delaney was linked with a move away from Borussia Dortmund last summer as well. But those in charge at BVB did not want to sell him then. With the competition for places so high in the Borussia Dortmund midfield, it will be interesting to see what the future holds for him this summer.
