Two pre-tournament favourites go head to head on Friday, as Belgium take on Italy in the Euro 2020 quarterfinals.

Belgium and Italy are the only two teams left with a perfect record at Euro 2020. Both teams are filled with world-class talent, and we could be in for a fascinating quarterfinal clash between them in Munich on Friday.

Belgium defeated Euro 2016 winners Portugal to qualify for the quarterfinals. The Red Devils have hardly put a foot wrong at the tournament so far. But they face their biggest hurdle on Friday as they go up against Italy.

Like Belgium, Italy have also dominated the European Championships so far. They were pushed all the way by Austria in the round of 16, but managed to get over the line in the end. The 2006 FIFA World winners are currently on a 31-game unbeaten run. And now they will be aiming to overcome Belgium and qualify for the semi-finals.

Belgium vs Italy: Predicted starting lineups for Euro 2020 quarterfinal

Belgium have a number of injury issues going into the game. Kevin De Bruyne and Eden Hazard both had to be subbed off during the win over Portugal, and are doubts heading into the quarterfinal. Borussia Dortmund trio Thorgan Hazard, Axel Witsel and Thomas Meunier should start once again for Belgium.

Italy will likely have their entire their squad available for selection. It will be interesting to see the midfield combination head coach Roberto Mancini decides to go with for Friday’s clash. Here is how Belgium and Italy could line up for their Euro 2020 quarterfinal.
