Borussia Dortmund have confirmed that they have reached an agreement in principle with Manchester United over the sale of Jadon Sancho.
After months and months of speculation, the Jadon Sancho saga is nearing its conclusion. Borussia Dortmund have confirmed that they have reached an agreement in principle with Manchester United over the transfer of the England international. The Black and Yellows will receive a fixed transfer fee of 85 million euros for the sale. Reports in Germany claim that the fee could potentially rise to 95 million euros with performance related add-ons.
Sancho, who is currently away on England duty at the European Championships, will now undergo a medical and sign a five year contract with Manchester United.
For Borussia Dortmund, the focus now turns to finding a successor for Sancho. The BVB bosses will want to bring in his replacement as soon as possible. New head coach Marco Rose said during his press conference on Thursday that they will look to find “creative solutions” to replace the winger.
PSV Eindhoven’s Noni Madueke and Donyell Malen are two players who have been heavily linked with a move to BVB in recent weeks. But replacing Sancho certainly won’t be an easy task.
Sancho joined Borussia Dortmund from Manchester City in 2017 at the age of 17. Over the course of his four year stint at the Signal Iduna Park, he developed into one of the best young wingers in the world and delivered countless world-class performances. His passion and game-changing ability will certainly be missed in Dortmund.
Sancho leaves Borussia Dortmund with 50 goals and 64 assists to his name in just 137 appearances for the club, incredible numbers for someone who just turned 21 in March.
