Donyell Malen is the top candidate to replace Jadon Sancho at Borussia Dortmund, while Noni Madueke’s father and agent visited the club’s training ground this week.

With an agreement over the sale of Jadon Sancho now reached, Borussia Dortmund have stepped up their search for a successor. The hottest path leads to PSV Eindhoven forward Donyell Malen. According to Ruhr Nachrichten, Malen is the top candidate to replace Sancho and BVB have already been in contact with his management for months now.

Borussia Dortmund would like to sign Malen for a fee of less than 30 million euros, and they feel that they have a good chance of doing that. Malen is primarily a number nine, but can also play on the wing. His flexibility would give Marco Rose the option of playing with a two-striker formation.

The Netherlands international scored 27 goals and provided 10 assists in 45 appearances for PSV last season.

Malen’s PSV Eindhoven teammate Noni Madueke is another hot candidate for Borussia Dortmund. Ruhr Nachrichten report that the England U-21 international’s father and agent visited BVB’s training ground earlier this week. RN add that if the financial opportunity presents itself, the Black and Yellows would like to sign another winger this summer. While concrete talks with Madueke’s representatives have not taken place yet, this can change at any time.

Madueke is coming off an impressive breakthrough campaign with PSV. He scored nine goals and provided eight assists in 32 appearances last season.

How much Borussia Dortmund can spend to strengthen their squad this summer will also depend on whether they can make further sales. BVB have already made two summer signings, bringing in Gregor Kobel and Soumaila Coulibaly.
