Borussia Dortmund play their first summer pre-season friendly on Tuesday as they go up against Regionalliga side FC Gießen. 

Club football is finally back and Borussia Dortmund begin the Marco Rose era on Tuesday with a pre-season friendly against FC Gießen, who play in the Regionalliga Southwest. The game will be played at the Waldstadion in front of 4000 supporters.

A number of big names are set to be in action on Tuesday, with the likes of Marco Reus, Mahmoud Dahoud and Julian Brandt all expected to feature. Gio Reyna could also be in the squad, having returned to training on Saturday after getting an extended break. But the game comes too soon for Erling Haaland and Gregor Kobel. The duo are back in Dortmund though, and could feature in Saturday’s double header against VfL Bochum and MSV Duisburg.

With several first team stars still absent, a number of players from the U-19s team will likely take to the pitch on Tuesday. Highly rated defender Nnamdi Collins is one player to keep an eye on, as he will be looking to make the step up to the first team this season.

Borussia Dortmund’s pre-season friendly clash against FC Gießen will be broadcast in Germany by Sky Sport. The game will also be streamed live on BVB’s YouTube and Twitch channels.
