VfB Stuttgart have completed the signing of Chris Führich from SC Paderborn. And sporting director Sven Mislintat has confirmed that a ‘really high chunk’ of the transfer fee will go to Borussia Dortmund.

Former Borussia Dortmund II player Chris Führich will be playing in the Bundesliga this season. The 23 year old has sealed a move to VfB Stuttgart on the back of his impressive performances last season while on loan at SC Paderborn. And Sven Mislintat has confirmed that the Black and Yellows will also profit from the transfer.

The VfB Stuttgart sporting director told the Zeitungsverlag Waiblingen that Borussia Dortmund will get a ‘really high chunk’ of the fee thanks to a sell-on clause.

Mislintat was working as a scout at Borussia Dortmund when Führich initially joined the club in 2013. Führich left the Black and Yellows in 2015, before making his return four years later. He made a total of 24 appearances for BVB II but never played a competitive game for the senior team.

Führich joined Paderborn on a season long loan deal last summer. And they signed him permanently for a fee of 700,000 euros earlier this summer. Now he moves to Stuttgart for a reported transfer fee of three million euros.

Führich joins Stuttgart as a replacement for Nicolas Gonzalez, who made the switch Italian side Fiorentina last month. The versatile forward starred for Paderborn in the 2. Bundesliga last season. And he will now be aiming to translate that form to the Bundesliga.
