Borussia Dortmund almost have their successor to Jadon Sancho. An agreement with PSV Eindhoven over the transfer of Donyell Malen is now imminent.

Borussia Dortmund and PSV Eindhoven are on the verge of reaching an agreement over the fee for Donyell Malen. According to Ruhr Nachrichten, there was direct contact between Borussia Dortmund sporting director Michael Zorc and Malen’s agent Mino Raiola on Thursday. And significant progress was made in the deal. An agreement is now expected to be reached soon.

There are still some details that need to be negotiated and clarified, but PSV Eindhoven will receive a transfer fee in the region of 30 million euros.

Ruhr Nachrichten add that Malen will ideally join his new Borussia Dortmund teammates in the first few days of the Bad Ragaz training camp. According to Fabrizio Romano, the Netherlands international will have his medical check in the next few days and sign a five year contract with Borussia Dortmund.

Donyell Malen has always been Borussia Dortmund’s top target to replace Jadon Sancho. It was reported earlier this week that negotiations with Mino Raiola were proving to be difficult and complicated. Liverpool were also interested in signing Malen, but his preference was to join BVB. And now it looks like the deal will get over the line soon.

Donyell Malen is coming off an impressive campaign with PSV. He scored 27 goals and provided 10 assists in 45 appearances across all competition for the Dutch giants last season. The 22 year old is primarily a central striker, but is also capable of playing on the wing. He will bolster a Borussia Dortmund attack that already features the likes of Erling Haaland, Marco Reus, Julian Brandt, Gio Reyna, Youssoufa Moukoko and Thorgan Hazard.
