Honorable Mentions

vs Fortuna Düsseldorf (Bundesliga 19/20)

Borussia Dortmund’s 5-0 win over Fortuna Düsseldorf during the 2019/20 season saw several players put in man of the match worthy performances. For Jadon Sancho, he did his damage with two goals and an assist. First, Thorgan Hazard finished off Sancho’s through ball to give Dortmund a 2-0 lead. A great one-two with Marco Reus then saw Sancho put BVB up 3-0 before he smashed home Achraf Hakimi’s cut back for the fifth and final goal of the day.

vs Schalke 04 (Bundesliga 20/21)

A dominant 4-0 win in the Revierderby had plenty of memorable moments for Jadon Sancho. He opened the scoring with a finish into the roof of the net after Schalke turned the ball over in their own half. He then assisted Haaland’s acrobatic effort with a fine cross off the left wing for Dortmund to go up 2-0. He was also involved in the final goal, playing Jude Bellingham into the box before the latter squared it to Haaland to seal the win. To make the occasion even better, Sancho ended the game as captain and it was the last Revierderby for the foreseeable future as Schalke got relegated at the end the season.

vs Bayern Munich (Bundesliga 18/19)

In his first start against Bayern Munich in the league, Jadon Sancho looked very much up for the occasion. He finished the game without a goal involvement, but was very unlucky not to claim at least one. He created two clear cut chances for Marco Reus and Paco Alcacer, but a goal line clearance from Joshua Kimmich denied the former and a last ditch tackle from Jerome Boateng stopped the latter. Sancho was also involved in the move that saw Alcacer score the game winner, and his hand in Dortmund’s consistent pressure played a big part in the comeback win.
