Number One: vs RB Leipzig (DFB Pokal 20/21 season)

Jadon Sancho’s best game for Borussia Dortmund undoubtedly has to be one of his last, as Borussia Dortmund tore apart Leipzig 4-1 in the DFB-Pokal final. It was a great night for BVB’s entire front three, and Sancho played a part in three of the four goals with two goals and an assist to his name.

Sancho put Borussia Dortmund on the front foot right away. Just five minutes in, the 21 year old was given too much time on the edge of the box. He cut in onto his right foot and curled home a goal worthy of opening up the final.

On the cusp of halftime, Sancho put one hand on the trophy for Dortmund. Reus was played through on goal, and drew Péter Gulácsi in before squaring the ball for Sancho. With the goal at his mercy, Sancho calmly cut past a recovering Marcel Halstenberg and tapped it home to make it 3-0.

In the final stretch of the game, Sancho had two really good opportunities to put the game to bed. The first time, he was played through by Delaney and rounded Gulácsi. Instead of finishing with his left, he tried to return the favour to Reus but Gulácsi recovered in time and broke the play up.

Just a few minutes later, he was leading another counter, this time after Reus found him isolated on the right wing. Sancho made his way to the box before finding Haaland, who had an oddly fortunate finish as he kicked it off his standing foot and past Gulácsi to make it 4-1 in the final minutes of the game.
