Erling Haaland: I am enjoying my time here at Borussia Dortmund
By Tushar Bahl
Rumours continue to link Erling Haaland with a move away from Borussia Dortmund. But the striker has said once again that he is happy at the club.
Borussia Dortmund have stated on numerous occasions that Erling Haaland is not for sale this summer. But rumours linking him with a move away from BVB continue to swirl. Reports in England claim that Chelsea are willing to pay around 175 million euros to sign the 21 year old. But Haaland does not care about the rumours and is enjoying his time at Borussia Dortmund.
"“I don’t really have much to say about it. I have three years left on his contract and I am enjoying my time here.”"
Haaland also spoke about the price tag being mentioned in the tabloids, and said that it is too much money for one player.
"“Before yesterday, I hadn’t spoken to my agent in one month. So I think you have the answer there. I don’t really care too much about that. I hope it’s just rumours to be honest because that’s a lot of money for one person.”"
Haaland still has three years left on his Borussia Dortmund contract, so the BVB bosses are under no pressure to sell him this summer. According to reports, there is a release clause in his contract that will come in effect next summer. In addition to Chelsea, Real Madrid, FC Barcelona, Manchester City and Manchester United are also said to be interested in signing him. But the Norwegian international is only focused on Borussia Dortmund.
Haaland also spoke about the importance of winning the DFB-Pokal last season, and said that it was a big step for both him and Borussia Dortmund. The Norwegian international is now hungry to win more trophies with the Black and Yellows. “It was an important step for the club to win another trophy. That’s what I want, I want to win trophies. So of course, it was important (for me as well).”
Haaland scored 41 goals in just 41 appearances for Borussia Dortmund last season. But he is not satisfied with his performances and wants to get even better. “Take all the chances I missed, if I had scored every chance I would be the top scorer. But I wasn’t and I missed a lot of chances. But it’s a lot of pressure and I have to maintain that (level) and I have to get better,” Haaland said.
