Felix Passlack (5/10)

Wiesbaden attacked from Passlack’s flank on a number of occasions. And he did not always look comfortable. The 23 year old’s decision making in defence wasn’t the best either. He had a couple of encouraging moments going forward, but did nothing that caused any problems to the Wiesbaden defence.

Antonios Papadopoulos (5/10)

Making his competitive debut for Borussia Dortmund, Papadopoulos had a few nervy moments over the course of the 90 minutes. He was late into a number of duels, and did not look too confident in possession either. Still, he helped his side keep a clean sheet. And he will be hoping for another opportunity next weekend.

Manuel Akanji (6.5/10)

Akanji slotted straight into the starting XI, just over a week after returning from his post Euro 2020 break. And he carried over his impressive form from the Euros by delivering another solid performance at centre-back. He was always in control defensively, and also forced a save from the Wiesbaden goalkeeper in the second half.

Nico Schulz (7/10)

Raphael Guerreiro’s injury presented Nico Schulz with a chance to start. And he did a fairly decent job at left-back. The 28 year old made some really good forward runs and also managed to deliver a couple of dangerous crosses.

Schulz’ performance will certainly be an encouraging sign for Marco Rose and the BVB supporters. And the hope will be that he can build on it in the coming weeks.
