Borussia Dortmund II continue impressive start to the season with 5-2 win over SC Freiburg II

Borussia Dortmund II continued their unbeaten start to the 3. Liga season on Friday, as they came from behind to beat SC Freiburg II 5-2. 

Marco Pasalic, Timo Bornemann, Richmond Tachie, Berkan Taz and Cebrail Makreckis all found the back of the net to give Borussia Dortmund II an impressive win over SC Freiburg on Friday evening. The result also helped Enrico Maaßen’s side extend their unbeaten run to an incredible 27 games.

Borussia Dortmund II were made to work hard for the win though, as Freiburg opened the scoring in the 13th minute. But the young Black and Yellows levelled the scores immediately after going behind. Marco Pasalic found the top corner with a stunning effort from the edge of the box.

The BVB U-23s completed their comeback just two minutes later. This time Pasalic turned provided for Timo Bornemann, who scored his first goal of the season. Richmond Tachie then doubled his side’s advantage with an excellent strike from the left flank in the 22nd minute.

SC Freiburg II managed to halve the deficit in the 34th minute, with Kevin Schade scoring his second goal of the evening. But a deflected strike from Berkan Taz restored Borussia Dortmund II’s two goal cushion at the hour mark. Cebrail Makreckis then turned home the fifth goal in stoppage time to seal a deserved 5-2 win.

The game also saw summer signing Abdoulaye Kamara come off the bench and make his debut for the Borussia Dortmund U-23s. The 16 year old became the youngest player to ever play in the 3. Liga.
