Felix Passlack (4.5/10)

Passlack’s game was a mixed bag. He struggled defensively and gave away a cheap free-kick that led to Freiburg’s opening goal. He never looked comfortable in defence.

Passlack did manage to deliver a couple of dangerous crosses, including one that led to the own goal. But overall, it was another disappointing performance from the right-back.

Axel Witsel (4/10)

Witsel filled in at centre-back once again and did not have the best of times. He was too slow and struggled against the mobile Freiburg forwards. He also failed to react in time to stop Freiburg’s second goal from happening.

Manuel Akanji (6.5/10)

Like on Tuesday, Akanji held the Borussia Dortmund defence together on his own at times. He made some vital tackles and recoveries for his side. He also won the majority of his duels and played some impressive forward passes in the first half.

Nico Schulz (4.5/10)

Schulz seemed to be struggling right from the start. He lost the ball cheaply on a number of occasions and was substituted with an injury in the 37th minute.
