Mahmoud Dahoud (5/10)

Dahoud played a couple of impressive forward passes, including a lovely through ball for Donyell Malen in the first half. But his impact on the game was limited as Freiburg crowded the midfield area, ensuring that he did not have any space to thread passes into. As a result, he lost possession a total of 19 times over the course of the 90 minutes.

Jude Bellingham (7/10)

Bellingham was arguably Borussia Dortmund’s best player in the game. He came close to scoring twice in the first half. He forced a good save from the Freiburg goalkeeper before hitting the post with a header. He looked threatening in the second half as well, and forced an own goal to bring his side back into the game.

Bellingham showed more commitment and desire than any other Borussia Dortmund player on the pitch on Saturday.

Gio Reyna (5/10)

Reyna put in a lot of hard work and made some really good runs. But his decision making in the final third wasn’t always the best. He did manage to deliver some dangerous crosses from corners. But other than that, it wasn’t the best of performances from the 18 year old.
