Thomas Meunier (5/10)

Meunier looked a bit rusty in his first game back, although that is no surprise considering he hasn’t been able to train much since Belgium’s Euro 2020 exit. He did not always look comfortable in possession, and gave the ball away cheaply at times. But he also put in some dangerous crosses in the few offensive forays he did make.

Axel Witsel (6/10)

Witsel looked much more comfortable and in control than he did against Freiburg. He still had a few nervy moments, but overall, it was a solid performance from the Belgian international.

Manuel Akanji (7/10)

A number of Akanji’s forward passes set up dangerous attacks for Borussia Dortmund. The Swiss international led the defence well and kept the often dangerous Andrej Kramarić quiet for the majority of the 90 minutes. He also came close to scoring twice, but failed to beat the goalkeeper on both occasions.

Raphael Guerreiro (6/10)

Guerreiro looked very lively going forward and created a number of chances for his teammates. But he did make it too easy for Baumgartner to get past him and make it 1-1. Like Meunier, he showed a few signs of rustiness. But that is to be expected from players who missed pre-season and are still slowly getting back to full fitness
