Borussia Dortmund will not be signing Diogo Dalot this summer, with the right-back set to stay at Manchester United.

It was reported earlier this week that Borussia Dortmund were in talks to sign Diogo Dalot from Manchester United. The Black and Yellows wanted to sign Dalot on a season long loan deal with an option to buy. But now it looks like the Portuguese international will be staying in England.

According to WAZ, Borussia Dortmund’s offer to sign Dalot has been rejected by Manchester United. The newspaper adds that the Premier League side do not want to sell the 22 year old this summer. This report has also been confirmed by Fabrizio Romano.

Manchester United’s refusal to part ways with Diogo Dalot means that Borussia Dortmund will now have to look elsewhere in their search for a new right-back. With only three days left before the transfer window slams shut, it will be interesting to see if the BVB bosses manage to sign someone.

Mateu Morey is currently sidelined after suffering a long term injury in May, so Thomas Meunier and Felix Passlack are Borussia Dortmund’s only available options at right-back. The Spaniard is expected to miss the majority of the season. And so BVB are looking to bring in a new right-back before Tuesday’s transfer deadline day.

Inter Milan’s Valentino Lazaro is another player who has been linked with a move to Borussia Dortmund in recent days. But it is very unlikely that he will make the switch to Dortmund this month.
