Borussia Dortmund raised €295,000 and scored 12 goals in a charity benefit match to help those affected by the recent floods in Germany. Marin Pongracic, Julian Brandt, Reinier Jesus and Abdoulaye Kamara were all on target in the win.

Borussia Dortmund CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke and President Dr. Reinhard Rauball presented a cheque of €295,000 to Hagen mayor Erik Olaf Schulz ahead of the game. The money was raised by the club, fans, partners and the foundation in order to help those in Hagen who were affected by the recent floods in Germany. All proceeds from the match that took place on Wednesday will go towards helping the victims of last month’s floods.

The match itself saw Borussia Dortmund take on SpVg. Hagen 1911 and SV Hohenlimburg 1910 in front of almost 5,000 supporters at the Ischelandstadion in Hagen. Marin Pongracic made his BVB debut after joining on loan from Wolfsburg on transfer deadline day. The likes of Julian Brandt, Marius Wolf and Reinier Jesus also featured, along with a number of players from the U-23s team.

Timo Bornemann got the scoring started in the first half against SpVg. Hagen 1911, before Kolbeinn Finnsson made it 2-0 in the 18th minute. Reinier then made it 3-0 before setting up Maik Amedick for the Black and Yellows’ fourth goal.

Borussia Dortmund played SV Hohenlimburg 1910 in the second 45 minutes and enjoyed a goal glut. Christian Viet opened the scoring 1-0 in the 1st minute, before Julian Brandt doubled BVB’s advantage from the penalty spot just two minutes later. Quick-fire goals from Reinier and Lennard Maloney then saw Marco Rose’s side take a 4-0 lead after just 11 minutes.
