Marius Wolf reportedly attracting interest from Fenerbahce
Marius Wolf could still leave Borussia Dortmund this month, with reports in Turkey claiming that Fenerbahce are interested in signing him on loan.
The transfer window is still open in Turkey, and Fenerbahce are reportedly looking to sign Marius Wolf on a loan deal. According to Turkish outlets A Spor and Fotomac, Fenerbahce are in negotiations with Borussia Dortmund as they look to sign the versatile wide player before Wednesday’s transfer deadline.
Wolf, who joined Borussia Dortmund from Eintracht Frankfurt in 2018, is free to leave the club. The 26 year old spent the last two seasons out on loan at Hertha Berlin and FC Köln respectively. The BVB bosses wanted to sell Wolf this summer. But they failed to find a buyer for him before the transfer window closed in Germany last week.
Wolf has been in the Borussia Dortmund squad in four of their five games so far this season, and has made two substitute appearances. He came off the bench in the 3-2 win over TSG Hoffenheim just before the international break and put in an encouraging cameo performance. Despite that impressive display, Wolf will be limited to a bit-part role if he stays with the Black and Yellows this season.
It remains to be seen how real Fenerbahce’s interest is in signing Wolf. Sport1 report that a transfer away from the club would be in the best interests of both Marius Wolf and Borussia Dortmund. Wolf’s consulting agency ROGON also reportedly has a close relationship with the Turkish club. And that could help speed along any potential move.
