Marco Reus (7/10)

Reus was very unlucky not to get on the scoresheet as he hit the post with a brilliantly taken free-kick late on. He also set up some really good chances for his teammates and played the cross that led to Borussia Dortmund’s third goal. The way he led the pressing in the first half was also a joy to watch.

Donyell Malen (6.5/10)

Malen had several encouraging moments in the first half and he showed that he is capable of making an impact at Borussia Dortmund. But the final touch or pass wasn’t always as sharp as he would have liked. He wasn’t as involved after the break and was substituted in the 72nd minute.

Erling Haaland (8/10)

Erling Haaland put the breaks on the Union Berlin comeback with an incredible lobbed finish past the goalkeeper to make it 4-2. It was another game-changing moment from Haaland, who continues to deliver week in, week out for Borussia Dortmund.

Haaland also headed home from Thomas Meunier’s cross in the first half, but wasn’t able to get into the game for a long time after that (up until the 82rd minute of course).
