Erling Haaland brace lifts Borussia Dortmund to stunning 4-2 win over Union Berlin

Erling Haaland scored yet another brace to help Borussia Dortmund earn a dramatic 4-2 win over Union Berlin on Sunday.
It was goals galore at the Signal Iduna Park once again on Sunday evening, as Erling Haaland led Borussia Dortmund to an incredible 4-2 win over Union Berlin. Raphael Guerreiro was also on target for the Black and Yellows, who made it four wins in a row in all competitions.
Marco Rose made just one change to the side that defeated Besiktas on Wednesday, with Axel Witsel coming into the team for the injured Julian Brandt. Donyell Malen started alongside Erling Haaland up front, with Marco Reus and Jude Bellingham providing the attacking support from midfield.
Union Berlin had a goal ruled out for offside in the opening minute, and it was all Borussia Dortmund after that. The hosts dominated the game and got their opener in the tenth minute. And it was a thing of beauty from Raphael Guerreiro, who volleyed the ball into the back of the net from a very tight angle.
Haaland then doubled Borussia Dortmund’s lead after getting on the end of Thomas Meunier’s cross, giving the Belgian international his third assist in as many games.
Marco Rose’s side looked to be cruising to victory at half time, and they added a third in the 52nd minute when Marco Reus forced an own goal. But then Axel Witsel gave away a penalty and Max Kruse made no mistake from 12 yards out to pull Union Berlin back into the contest. Andreas Voglsammer then brought the Berliners to within one goal in the 81st minute after heading home from a corner.
But Erling Haaland ensured that the Signal Iduna Park faithful did not have to go through a tense final ten minutes, and he did it in some style. The Norwegian international got on the end of Mats Hummels’ long ball before lobbing it past Andreas Luthe from the edge of the box. It was a truly sublime finish from Haaland, who has now scored 68 goals in just 67 appearances for Borussia Dortmund.
Marco Reus nearly made it 5-2 late on, but his free-kick struck the post. In the end, Borussia Dortmund managed to avoid a nervy finish and came away with three precious points.
