Marco Rose once again praised Jude Bellingham on Friday, but was quick to distance himself between statements made regarding him being a product of the “Rose effect”.

Borussia Dortmund head Marco Rose has been credited with having quite the positive impact on the team’s many players since joining in the summer transfer window. Of these players, Jude Bellingham has been noted as one of the standout performers in the side under Rose. The former Borussia Mönchengladbach head coach was quick to dispel claims that insinuated he was the sole reason Bellingham is enjoying such a great start to the season.

"“The youth coaches developed him quite well here, then he worked under Edin Terzic. I want to dismiss myself far away from the notion that I shaped Jude in such a way that you can say his progress was the “Rose effect”. He’s done an incredible amount himself to get here, and he still sees a lot of room for improvement for himself. I just hope that I can continue to guide him as well.”"

Rose’s comments however do not take away from the fact that under his stewardship, the Englishman has taken a far more important role in the side, becoming critical to much of the good play this Dortmund side have shown this season.

Bellingham has been a constant in a season that has started off shakily for the Black and Yellows. In four Bundesliga games, Bellingham has already scored once and assisted two goals. He was also responsible for a goal and an assist in Dortmund’s triumph over Beşiktaş J.K. in the UEFA Champion’s League this week.

Bellingham’s next opportunity to continue his fine run of form will be this coming Sunday’s clash with Union Berlin. Typically a problematic opponent for Dortmund in the last couple seasons, Union will be a perfect opportunity for Bellingham to continue to play his incisive style of football and help his side to what will hopefully be another important three points.
