Borussia Mönchengladbach winger Jonas Hofmann has said that Marco Rose does not deserve to be booed when he returns to the Borussia-Park on Saturday.

Borussia Dortmund head coach Marco Rose will make his return to former club Borussia Mönchengladbach when the two sides face off this weekend. It will mark his first visit to Gladbach since leaving the club to join Borussia Dortmund in the summer. And he is expected to receive a frosty reception from the Gladbach supporters who will be in attendance at the Borussia-Park on Saturday.

But Borussia Mönchengladbach winger Jonas Hofmann does not think that Marco Rose deserves to be booed. In an interview with BILD, the 29 year old praised Rose as a great guy who helped the Foals write history.

"“I don’t think Marco Rose deserves to be booed (on his return to Gladbach this weekend),” Hofmann said. “He’s a great guy and wrote club history with Gladbach, reaching the knockout rounds of the Champions League for the first time.”"

Marco Rose joined Borussia Mönchengladbach from RB Salzburg in 2019 and spent two years in charge of the club. He led Gladbach to the round of 16 of the UEFA Champions League for the first time in the club’s history last season. And his impact at Gladbach prompted Borussia Dortmund to pay his release clause of five million euros and appoint him as their new head coach this summer.

Rose has made an impressive start to life at Borussia Dortmund, winning six of his first eight games in charge. He will be aiming to lead the Black and Yellows to their fifth win a row on Saturday at the expense of his former club.
