Dan-Axel Zagadou and Soumaila Coulibaly are both back in team training in what is undoubtedly a huge boost for Borussia Dortmund.

The Borussia Dortmund players trained in front of supporters for the first time since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic on Wednesday afternoon. A total of 550 BVB fans watched the open training session. And three players made their returns to training after long injury spells.

Dan-Axel Zagadou and Soumaila Coulibaly both returned to the training pitch on Wednesday after recovering from their serious knee injuries. The two young defenders completed parts of team training with the rest of the squad. Both players are right on track with their recoveries. And if everything goes according to plan, they could return to action after next month’s international break.

Nico Schulz also made his return to training on Wednesday. The left-back suffered a muscle injury in the game against SC Freiburg last month and has missed Borussia Dortmund’s last five games.

Emre Can and Gio Reyna remain out for now with their respective muscle injuries. They are not expected to return until after the international break. According to Ruhr Nachrichten, Can trained individually on Wednesday.
