Borussia Dortmund player ratings vs Sporting CP: Donyell Malen finally gets his goal
By Tushar Bahl
Thomas Meunier (6/10)
Meunier did his job well on both ends of the pitch. He was solid defensively and delivered some sharp crosses going forward. He got forward well and linked up really well with his teammates.
Manuel Akanji (7/10)
Akanji helped set up Malen’s goal with a well weighted pass to Jude Bellingham. He was strong in his duels and made some important interceptions for his side.
Mats Hummels (6/10)
Hummels made a few very sloppy and uncharacteristic errors in possession over the course of the 90 minutes. Luckily for him, Sporting failed to take advantage. But he also made several important recoveries and clearances to balance out those mistakes.
Raphael Guerreiro (6/10)
Guerreiro wasn’t able to make much of an impact on the game going forward as he had the dangerous Pedro Porro and Pablo Sarabia to deal with defensively. And while he had a few small problems defensively over the course of the 90 minutes, he did a fairly decent job in the end.
