Borussia Dortmund will be looking to build on Tuesday’s win over Sporting CP as they take on FC Augsburg in the Bundesliga this weekend.

Borussia Dortmund’s final game before next week’s international break sees them square off against FC Augsburg at the Signal Iduna Park in the Bundesliga. Augsburg have proven to be a tricky opponent for the Black and Yellows in recent seasons. So Dortmund certainly cannot afford to take them lightly.

Borussia Dortmund responded to last weekend’s defeat to Borussia Mönchengladbach by earning a 1-0 win over Sporting CP in the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday. It wasn’t the best of performances from Marco Rose’s side, but they managed to get the job done fairly comfortably in the end.

With Bayern Munich and Wolfsburg both facing tricky fixtures this weekend, the Augsburg game could be the perfect opportunity for Borussia Dortmund to close the gap on their title rivals.

Augsburg have won only one of their opening six games in the Bundesliga, and that win came against Borussia Mönchengladbach two weeks ago. The Bavarian side were handed a 3-0 drubbing by SC Freiburg last weekend. And they are the league’s lowest scorers so far this season, with just two goals to their name after six games. But they do have a squad that is more than capable of hurting the often sloppy Borussia Dortmund defence.
